Join Estbirding

Birdwatchers from Estonia and around the world are welcome to join the Estonian birding club Estbirding. We expect our members to follow good birding practices, value strong identification skills, and record and preserve their observations accurately in databases.

  • Estbirding organises twice‑yearly gatherings – in spring and autumn – which include presentations and a general meeting.
  • Members can use the Rariliin (Birdline), through which members share rare bird sightings via text messages.
  • Estbirding members share important information with each other via a mailing list. In addition, there is a WhatsApp group created for EB members, where everyday communication takes place.
  • Estbirding also organises a year-round birdwatching competition – in some years, the competition may be open only to Estbirding members.

The Estbirding membership fee is 15 euros per year.

Estbirding

Estbirding brings together keen birders in Estonia. We value good birding practices, strong identification skills, and the accurate recording of observations in databases. Our activities include searching for rare birds, migration observations, ringing birds and reading rings, as well as participating in various monitoring projects. Through these efforts, we contribute to bird research and conservation in Estonia and around the world. Club members exchange information via Rariliin (Birdline) and an email list, also we organize meetings, joint birding trips, and competitions. The Estbirding logo features a Long-tailed Jaeger (Stercorarius longicaudus).

On our website you can find various trip reports and articles . Our gallery contains 1000+ photos of Estonian and global bird species, local rarities, aberrant birds and hybrids, as well as material showing our birding community in action.

We run the Facebook page Birding Estonia.
